From Time: Sunset combines acrylic and oil to build a layered atmosphere of fading light. Diluted acrylic washes form the warm sky and cloud-filled atmosphere, while oil is used to define the landscape and radiating light. The gradual layering of paint creates depth while allowing the image to develop intuitively over time.

The sunset becomes a warm, embracing presence for those who have endured the day. Rather than representing a final ending, it reflects an Eastern understanding of cyclical time: daylight fades into moonlight before returning again with the next dawn.

Through this transition, Sunset considers solace, continuity and renewal. Darkness is not presented as an absence of light, but as part of an ongoing cycle in which warmth persists. The work reflects my belief that maeum—the inner field of emotion, thought, memory and intention—is similarly never fully extinguished, but continues quietly through moments of darkness until light returns.
